The Launch
CB2 first opened on the afternoon of 24th March, 1999, and rapidly attracted many customers.
Preparation
The building had previously been used for an antiques shop. It took a year and 5 days to convert for its new use.
The flood
On March 30th 1999, staff arrived for the day to find the premises flooded by a faulty water supply, and we had to close for several weeks while the premises were dried and re-decorated. Ours not to reason why, ours but to mop and dry!
The re-launch
Having been dried out and re-decorated, CB2 re-opened on 1st May, 1999. On the 5th May, our drinks licence was granted.
