This is just a stub; I will fill this essay in when I have clarified my thoughts on this topic.
When many creatures are in a common environment, and thus can influence each other and so interact, they are said to form a society; the creatures are members of that society.
Arrangements within a society such that in a given situation, any member would be treated the same (in some aspect) as any other, are said to be just.
Members of a society have some duty to behave toward each others in a particular way, normally one that tends to reduce the amount of harm done within that society.
