Before I made it read standard SiRiL method files, the program read files in the following formats:
Method: St. Clement's College Bob Minor X 16 X 36 X 36 ^ 12 Single: 1234 Bob: 14
Method: St. Clement's College Bob Minor &-16-36-36,+12 Single: 1234 Bob: 14
At your own risk, you could try a mixture of these in one file.
To use these formats, set the emacs variable
ringing:always-use-method-library
to
nil
. The program then expects to find these files in the
directory ~/ringing/methods/
(or the directory named by
the emacs variable
place-notation:default-methods-directory
), but it gives
you a chance to tell it to look elsewhere as you start it.
